Someone asked, how much progress did we made as Indians as humans? As I see and sink in, we may have made progress in many fields like making mark in Space or be it where we stand in world level, but we are in the same place where we were some 60-70 years ago(even after Independence). We used to fight on religious issues then and still on it, we get instigated/agitated even now on religious grounds. It’s worrisome to see the plight of the situation of India today. Our own leaders of various parties are supporting such divides and not really want to move on from there for personal or vote gains or reasons unknown! If highest of powers can think in these lines even in this day and age, what we should expect from people in grassroots level. When our point of conversation and plan of action should be on how to eradicate poverty, unemployment and economic situation, here we are playing blame games, creating ruckus in the name of religion-the very religion which says to have empathy and love for every human (in all religion!) when it’s time to bring in all the economists together to think on developing and bringing country on a right direction, we are still stuck on age old religious problem. Why can’t the people understand that religion was made ages ago for what they believed in and to give human a strong thing to hold on at time of adversities, but we have still made this an issue to divide people and few people has used it time and again to manipulate and agitate people whereas it shouldn’t be. We humans are structured that way, to believe what we are fed in, and if our thinking starts in that direction it takes a lot of time to pull back. With social media, news houses making breaking news using religion that creates a opinion for each person absorbing it, even the common man starts to think that way, they create a pattern of thinking among the people following them, and the person listening to them will start in same direction which is basic human tendency…
With poverty stricken human, he doesn’t care which religion the person who helped him is, all he cares is he has “do waqt ki roti”. We have high population of young people, by seeing how the young people have also started to think in religious biases is worrisome; these impressionable people are fed with delusional religious problem. Young people nowadays are engrossed in stupid fights, using cuss words and projecting other people down or dissing others on social platforms and so called “influencers” as they are called are effecting the people following them and would think that is “cool”, what are we feeding young minds of INDIA?
With age old thinking, has made us poorer country than the countries that made drastic progress having started at the same state/level as us. Deep down we as Indians are really empathetic and close to our roots and why don’t we use our strength to actually progress?
In this day and age, the youth should be talking about “ideas and invention”, but here we are discussing about upper caste and lower caste and what not. I know these are huge problem, but little deviation can do wonders. Even (now) developed countries also had to face their share of religious/community problems, but since world war many have made peace with it or made it in back foot and because they realized it soon, what really matters is to develop the conditions to rise from the ashes and do inventions and discoveries that help people of the country to have safe and quality living. I know we are religiously and financially diverse, but we are not allowing our energetic and youth power for betterment of country either.
Economy is slipping, thousands of graduate passed out but with no jobs, many have been graduating and only few have real knowledge. It is the times where we should invest and indulge in ideas and have debate on innovations and what would be better option to develop our state, economy or lifestyle. We lose our precious time on the subjects that will have no relevance on any of our lives ahead. What led many countries to thrive and create better economy was how they synced their environment itself for budding entrepreneur and that they knew their ideas /innovation would be heard. And they used our brains (Indians work as scientists and engineers abroad or as outsource) are thriving on our market (largest consumer market) when we could have used our resources for our own people.
There are greater problems like climate change, water scarcity, etc, but looks like this problem will make it worse for us if we aren’t prepared and united.
“Do waqt ki roti kafi hai saab” is the answer to many people who live life on limited means and poor conditions, they don’t believe in or are interested in religious debates, they just want to feed their kids and don’t want to starve and just want to send their kids to school for better future, than why educated people are wasting the time for such irrelevant debates is the question. The people with brains(biggest power with us is our intelligence and educated young mind with us) and education should use their resources to ease the life of people and bring in quality living. Waiting for the day when we will be discussing “ideas and innovation” and not “people and religion”, that day we will have our own silicon valley surpassing all our preconceived notions/problems and a “hope” in the eyes of each individual :)

PS: I had this going on my mind since a long time(when unnecessary topics were headlining), please give it a thought when you indulge in any debates which don’t help you in longer run instead spend time in discussing "ideas" and educate the people around you for the same. With Independence Day coming around the corner, let’s make ourselves proud of ourselves:)
